my computer is ~2GHz windows98se 256 memory.
lately I reformatted my 60 Gb HD and loaded the windows again.
everything works fine but now the computer is mute. no sounds are obtained from any program. I checked the speakers on another machine and they work fine. Probably there is some configuration fault, but I don't know how to find it.
please advise
thanks

Did you reinstall the driver for the soundcard?

I didn't open the computer neither made any changes in the wiring. the only thing i did was to reformat the HD into 3 partitions and load again the system, the software and other files.
i believe that the problem is somwhere in the configuration.
after reformatting  i had similar problem with CD burner and i solved it by appropriate patches. but i am not enough computerwise to find the solution for sound
please advise
