It's a bit odd to me when a new member would want to be a moderator, but I guess it's common. It definitely won't be happening anytime soon, and it's not anything personal against you because, well, I know nothing about you...but people are generally around quite awhile before they're considered. I won't give away all of the details, but the selection process can be rather picky/specific at times. And although you didn't like the first couple of answers, it's true that those who are overly eager usually don't become moderators. This doesn't mean you don't have a chance, of course. Like Calum said, you need to be a contributing member for a significant amount of time and you need to prove your ability, maturity, and responsibility to both the administrator and the other moderators. Another thing to keep in mind is that new moderators aren't brought on board very often. The best thing you can do is not worry about it. It could happen someday, but your main goal should be to help people.
To be perfectly honest, moderating this place isn't a fun job. Ha.
Whether or not you get what you seek, I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here. And you never know what may happen months down the road.
