Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
Download Mirror #1
Download Mirror #2

  • Double-click SystemLook.exe to run it.
  • Vista users:: Right click on SystemLook.exe, click Run As Administrator
  • Copy the content of the following box into the main textfield:
    Quote
    :file
    SR.INF

  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

     I will definitely check into those sites when I get the laptop online. Thank you all for your assistance. When I get the verdict I'll post the results.

    Download it on working computer. Use USB stick to move it to the bad computer.

    Can I just ask why JJ?

    Norton doesn't like system restore. In order to complete a system restore you have to turn off protection for Norton products. You don't have to turn off Norton - just the protection for Norton products.

    This page explains how to turn it off.

    I've used Norton for three years... never had that problem. Is it something I should look out for?

    He's actually planning huge covert operation to remotely remove all Norton installations throughout the world.
    That's why, he has to know all possible locations of it  ;D  ;D  :P  :P

    For one DLoad and install Process Explorer and see what it eats for lunch...

    Then if you are really adventurous ...try uninstalling it.
