Reinstall of Vista

Hello All: I found that my friend has registry error's ( He was playing with his computer again!!).... He wants to reinstall the Vista OS.... Will he lose his programs with the  install?  Thx....

try a system restore first which would revert the registry back to the way it was on the particular restore point date you have picked that's available. If all goes well, he doesn't have to reinstall vista. Save some time.

Thanks for your suggestion.... He said he had no restore point.... cause he shut it off.... I didn't know you could that.....
