2 video cards on Vista 64 bit

I just bought a third monitor and a new video to run one of my old monitors. I have a 8800 gts, and I bought an 8400 GS to run the other monitor. My motherboard is BIOSTAR NF520-A2.

Windows doesn't even show having two video cards in. I tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, but I cannot get it to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Why do you need video cards just to run an extra monitor? What's wrong with VGA leads?

I have two monitors on the 8800, and I want a third on the 8400. Splitters won't work because I want 3 individual screens.

So, that's a PCI-Express card and PCI card, right?

Yes, from reading the Microsoft website it should be fine because they will both use the geforce 8 series drivers.

Access your BIOS screens and see whether it has a setting to do with primary graphics adapter, or similar terminology. If it has such a setting, you may need to select PCI as the primary graphics adapter.  This would allow the PCI-Express card to work but will also allow the system to recognize the PCI card.

If you have manual for your motherboard, it should have some info on this if it applies to your motherboard.

I checked that, I set it to PCI slot first, and turned on the vga for the pci slots.

Still nothing.
