This drive was originally a Maxtor back-up drive that my brother in law could never get to accomplish a successful back-up routine when running on his XP desktop system or his new Vista laptop. He gave it to me and I installed upgraded software and tried it on my Vista x64 system and again recieved "back-up failed" error messages. I decided to delete all contents on the drive and use it as a basic external storage drive. My problem is now my system see's it as "Drive not yet initialized". How do I initialize this drive?
It's a Maxtor One Touch III, 200 Gb.

Do it thru Disk Management...right click My Computer...select Manage...then Disk Management.
