    « on: July 01, 2009, 11:29:09 AM »
I have updated Firefox today. The latest version works smoothly. But in the add and remove  programs list in control panel shows the Firefox's previous version (3.0).Then I try my best to remove the programs but not removed. After this I delete the mozilla's file from 'C' drive. What is the problem?what shall I do?I am using windows XP pro (sp 2), AVG Free, spybot & advanced system care free.pls help me.

Does Add and Remove Programs show both a 3.0 entry and a 3.5 entry?

I have noticed that sometimes when I update Firefox, the new version is added to the list but the old version is not removed from the list.  It seems that it is just a mistake in the update process.

My solution has been to use CCleaner to remove the old entry.  In CCleaner, go to "Tools" in the left column, go to "Uninstall", select the old Firefox entry, and click "Delete Entry".  (If you decide to try CCleaner, I recommend going to this page and downloading the "Slim" version.)

No only shows 3.0 version. I use advanced system care free. My question is : what is better? Ccleaner   or advanced system care free. Can I use both?

I think you can use both CCleaner and Advanced System Care, but I have not tried.

Since you do not have a Firefox 3.5 entry, I would try downloading and installing Firefox from the Mozilla website.  You should not have to uninstall your current Firefox version before installing the new one.

That looks about right.  My Firefox is 26.98 MB, but I have more add-ons.

Those are just your program files.

        Look here:
        C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\

Now add/remove programes list show the latest version.
And, the older version is gone, or do both versions appear there?

In the all programs  list from start menu there are two Firefox. One is Mozilla Firefox and second is Mozilla Firefox (safe mode). Why?

Because Safemode is built into FireFox...
It's used for troubleshooting stubborn extensions or browser issues.
          Perfectly normal.
