    « on: July 15, 2009, 08:10:50 AM »
screw up my wireless connectivity...on my device manager they show as 1394 network adapter en NVIDIA network controller, but i removed the physical comcard and replaced it with the D-Link wireless....I did uninstall both but after a restart they show up again...what now?

    AMD Athlon 64, 3200+, 3Gb RAM, XP+SP3, D-LINK wireless network adapter 54mbps

1394 is firewire, and the NVIDIA network controller is your on-board ethernet.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

I KNOW THAT (no offense meant) but how can i get rid of them because they interfere (after a while) with my connectivity and stop the Net, and everytime i have to do the MS Diagnostic test that shows that that ethernet thingy still seems to be active regardless if I disable it or uninstall it.... :'(

1394 disabled but Nvidia Network controller cant be disabled, has something to do with protocols and being in use????????????????????????

disabled it anyway in devicemanager, was ok, but this breach in connectivity still occurs...MS Diagnostics says that I still have ethernet connection stuff and wireless....but i cant see any ethernetstuff in my devicemanager

Here under you see the existing situation before I disabled the both, 1394 and NVIDIA aso the wireless was the only one there, but still I have connectivity problems after a couple of minutes

You could also disable it from the BIOS

            Here you go..
Locate the built in 1394 and LAN

                  lol, no...sorry...found out self...ooops...

but the problem still exists....I found that 1394 stuff in the bios but not the nvidia...the 1394 items are the same as in the picture of the device manager, one could disable them...but the Nvidia network controller I did not find......but I noticed I have a Nvidia Enumerator??.....

Anything in the BIOS that says "LAN" or "NIC"?

                        ...then disable whatever says "LAN."
