    Laptop DVD Drive problem.
    « on: July 17, 2009, 05:09:53 PM »
I have a TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L632H ATA DVD drive on my Laptop.

I wanted to watch a DVD today, so I inserted the disk.

It did the usual thing and spun the disk up to a very low speed, but instead of searching for a video file, the lens could be heard moving backwards and forwards like it does when I start the laptop up. It did this twice then the disk spun up to a higher speed, then spun down to a stop after a few seconds. When I clicked on the DVD drive in My Computer, a box appeared saying "Please insert a disk into E:\" then the disk ejected.

It might be a glitch that will sort itself out when I restart, but I thought I would post here just to make sure.

I have tried more than one disk.

I have attached a HJT log if it helps.

Have you burned a lot of files on this drive?

That kind of sound is telling me, the laser is going out.
You can try lens cleaner, but they never worked for me...
