For at least the third time, fix your hardware cooling issues.  If you don't want to do that, any other suggestions anybody could give you are pointless.
Not many people manage to successfully provoke a reaction from me and I won't give you the satisfaction, I am responding on the very slight chance you are not a professional troll.

    Hehe....

If you experienced a thermal shutdown, feel free to post your hardware specs so we can critique them.  As I've said before, F@H had my computer running hotter than gaming / AutoCADD / etc.  My i7 processor could get up to 100C, so I bought a new Heat Sink and temps dropped to 70-80C.  I could suggest the same, if you are willing to take out a motherboard and play around with your computer's hardware.  It would be better for us to know exactly what you are working with, first.

I'm not aware of all the situations that can bring about a thermal shutdown, I'm just commenting on heat sinks because I've worked with my own recently.  My understanding is that it rarely happens unless your computer is overclocked and unstable, though the newer i7's run hot with the stock heat sink.  Do you have a program to check your CPU temperature(s), like RealTemp?  If so, you can see how hot it is running during various tasks, idle, gaming, folding, what have you.  Then, if you still feel the need to try working with the heat sink, you could try applying new thermal grease and re-seating the heat sink, afterwards comparing your temperature readings with those before the work done.  If it still doesn't drop, perhaps a 3rd party heat sink would be an option.

        it runs 140*F idle
        170*F minor tasks
        182*F low games
and 189*F folding, compileing or high games

You will have to look up what the suggested running temperature of your computer is.  For my i7, Intel's listed max is 180F, with reports of people running it higher without any problems.  Even with my new heat sink, the temps approach 180 while folding.  Different computers will run at different temperatures.  Heck, even different programs will read different temperatures, depending on how they check the sensors.  After trying a few, I decided to use RealTemp because it had higher readings, (about 20F higher than SpeedFan) and I figured better safe than sorry.
