    Computer Freezes??
    « on: July 21, 2009, 01:52:25 AM »
I just dont understand whats causing my computer to freeze.  My CPU and Rams are only like 1 month old, i know its not the CPU or RAMs problem or other hardware because it runs fine is safe mode.

it doesnt go to Blue screen, it just freezes.
im playing this game for like 5 minutes, then the game moves totally in slow motion and if i leave it there, i can see people chatting with delay.  when i try to exit it, it just freezes, keyboard and Mouse wont work

When i try out this other game, its in windows mode, so im playing and when the freezes comes, it freezes everything except my game.  My game is running fine, but if i click anything out side, everythign freezes.

Same thing goes for browsing websites, it freezes everyting, allows me to move my mouse for 20 sec before it freezes.

    I tried everything:

    Deleting 30 GB of  stuff
Used Malwarebytes and took out 3 trojans
update my drivers with driver magician
fully scanned my computer from virus, clean
    cleaned my registry..

It started when i downloaded this game, and from that point on, it always happened, but i deleted the game and did all those things above.
Oh yeah i also tried system restore but it doesnt allow me.  im in safe mode right now and everythign is running fine..

    Really need some help :/

      Download, and install SpeedFan: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php
      Post your computer temperatures:

Provide processor info (hold Windows logo key, and hit Pause/Break key to find out).

Post two sets of temperatures, while computer idle, and while playing game.

It doesn't look like you have overheating problem.

hmm no luck, no virus, no trojan, no anything.

Could it be something with the updates or my OS?

                  nope i have AVG,

Not sure what ur question is on how old my computer is tho but i just bought my motherboard,CPU, and RAM 2 months ago.  My video card is pretty old tho.

Also, could over clocking be a problem? because i remember my brother overclocked it once and it started to restart the computer when im playing a game or make my game all fuzzy and boxed pixel and then restart my comp.  Then my brother brought it down alittle i think and it stopped all that.
But i cant reach him right now, he wont be back in 2 months, so could over clocking be a problem?

Why are his Temp1 and Temp2 settings both at 127C?  That's more than adequate to boil water.

If any doubt, I recommend to use another temperature reading program, like Everest.

idle, its also happening sooner now.  I just go on browsing webs and a simple reading an article for like 7 mins causes it to freeze also.

and now its happening in safe mode.

It said under my CPU speed in the EVEREST program:
CPU FSB 348.49 MHz (orginal: 100MHz, overclock: 249%)
CPU Clock: 2613.61 Mhz (Original: 2600 MHz)
                        CPU multiplier : 7.5x

                        could that be a problem?

Remove the CMOS battery from the MBoard...'bout the size of a Dime...with all power unplugged...
Wait 10 minutes and hit the power switch a few times to remove any built up power,
Replace the battery and power up.

Remove the CMOS battery from the MBoard...'bout the size of a Dime...with all power unplugged...
Wait 10 minutes and hit the power switch a few times to remove any built up power,
Replace the battery and power up.

You must have really big dimes where you live, here it's about the size of a quarter.

                              Not by much.

It's closest in size to a penny, though.

What part of Canada do you live in?

Do you have the same coins we do?

The battery in my welding mask is the same size as a quarter roughly, same battery.

nickel's a teensy bit larger, but definitely closer then a dime or penny.
