Right out of the box mine was on sale for $1550.00 CDN, so you must be able to get it on sale for about $1200.00-1300.00 US.

That's just it Laptop or PC? Obviously the money to power ratio needs considering. I'd probably spend about £1000 so about $1649 US.

Cheers for that I'm a bit lame when it comes to choosing the correct equipment. The computer shops like
Micro direct can sometimes mis-lead you. I will probably buy from there though because they do tend to either build for you or offer sound advice.
