    I'm not sure what had happened.  After a format an reinstall a while back everything was okay.  When I tried to watch a clip I noticed there wasnt any audio at all.  I checked an got the most recent driver ofr it off the site.  Its a dell demension 4100 win 2000 + sp 4

    You reformatted? Try reinstalling ALL your drivers on the website.

    also, don't forget to check that you got the speakers in the right jack.

      I'm not installing uncessary drivers, it is an though that it was that at first but it wasnt.

      Exactly, a chipset driver that you don't think applies may apply.

      Also make sure that the Windows Audio service is enabled.

        Never said that, I dont know if there is or not.  Not sure if it is, I do know that the speaker didnt show in the task bar tray an had to tell it to be there.  Its all right but still nothing.

          I'm not going to do a reformatt when the machine has been working well for almost six mths.  Its just one driver that I had put in the other day but still nothing.

          They are however asking that you re-install ALL your drivers.

            Thats what he just said,  I put in all the drivers that I had an updates.  Thing is that there isnt any sound.  Will try something dont think it will change.

            My ONLY advice and my last post in this topic: You had reformatted - so you must reinstall all your drivers.
