    All sorted...... thanks for all the help and advice. I managed to rename my network on the new desktop... to be honest I can't quite remember how I did it though! ??? I know I went into control panel, and it was there somewhere! I also managed to sort out my printer, cos it wasn't compatible with vista, only with xp, but somehow I managed to get the correct software, and it's also working, so I'm well chuffed with myself! :)
    I'm sure I'll be back here if I have any more questions, thanks again to all.....  ;D
