Can no longer recognize files and flash drives
« on: July 23, 2009, 09:27:32 AM »
I am running Vista on a Dell Inspiron 5305.  I like to download embroidery (jpeg) files but now it tells me that the file is empty when I try to open it.  It is the same way if the files are emailed to me.  If emailed I can go to my friends house and get my files there.  A few months ago I moved a lot of documents to a flash drive and until this week it recognized the files.  Now it tells me that the file is empty.  Also this week the file I created for downloading my designs has completely disappeared from my desktop.  I don't have a clue what is going on. I have spy sweeper, Malware bytes' anti malware, Skybot search and destroy, CW shredder  running.  I have been told by various people to put these on my computer.
Is there a way to go back to what my computer was when i first got it?

Can you be more specific? Do you get an error message?
