    monitor went blank
    « on: August 22, 2009, 03:27:54 PM »
I've had a samsung 953bw for less then a year and one day when I come home and turn it on the LED  displaying that the monitor is on kept flashing instead of remaining on.
I turned it off and on and it worked again but after a few days it remained off and the light keeps flashing.
The display dosent  brighten up when I turn it on, I haven't installed anything that may have affected the monitor and its not the cables or my video card since I am using the same right now on an acer.

I'm willing to take it apart and try some fixes that way or if anyone knows a link to a guide or willing to explain a possible fix it will be much appreciated

The easiest way to test the functionality of a display is to try it on another system. And if it works, try a different display on your system.

I've tried connecting it to 2 other computers using different cables, and the same cables, the results are always the same as my original post

It sounds to me like you need a new monitor.

Monitors hold a very high electrical charge...even long after being powered down.
I wouldn't advise working on it.

sounds like the caps are bad
but as patio says they hold high voltage even after being unpluged
