is there any way to force the vista areo glass to work in
16bit color?
i really think it would look nice but it needs 32bit color
and that makes me agitated

No. Aero needs 32 bits per pixel.

if it switch to 32
the screen gets lines in it and 5 seconds later a nice BSoD comes on

its a laptop
it did it even when new
i just always ran it in 16bpp and there is no reason areo shouldnt
work in 65536

and if there is some slight[/i] banding oh well

so the reason it should work is:
theres plenty of colors and 32bpp is not always possable at the desired res

That's not really a "reason", any more than saying "I want a present" is a "reason" why Santa Claus exists.
