Can't get IE 7 or 8 to run
    « on: September 10, 2009, 02:12:44 PM »
My computer "fix it" lady kept my computer for a day and when she
returned it, she said she'd installed IE 7 I think it was.

However today, I went to a site I'm going to be using heaviily every
day and they REQUIRE IE 7 or 8 and their system says I have IE 6.

I went to add/remove and none are listed there.  I don't know where they
    are kept!

I've heard that it's very hard to get rid of IE 6.

Bottom line is I'll follow your instructions to the letter if you can tell me
what to do I'll go and download a new one if you tell me to. Just put it
step by step because I'm a computer dummy.

    Thanks, Pennie77

No need to get rid of IE 6; don't even try.  Just download and install IE 7 from the link Allan posted.

Clearly, she did not install IE 7.  If she had, it would show up on add/remove programs.
