    Hi all can i put msdos.sys file on to hard drive if i take out the hdd and put it into another system as OS wont load?

      Boot to the 1st floppy of the 4 floppy set in DOS 6.2...
      After it loads at the A: prompt type sys C: and hit Enter.

        Sorry but i don't have floppy disk i saved the file to mydoc on outher system and was going to put the outher HDD in and copy the file to it .
        Boot to the 1st floppy of the 4 floppy set in DOS 6.2...
        After it loads at the A: prompt type sys C: and hit Enter.

        I don't believe simply copying it will accomplish much...the sys command needs to be used.

        What is it you are trying to accomplish here ? ?

          just want to boot system i put the file on drive and didn't work looks like i will have to make a 98 startup disk as it now says.
          The folling file is missing or crrupted: C:\WINDOWS\DBLUBUFF.SYS
