the dvd ram of my laptop acer aspire 1700  (matshita dvd ram uj 811) does not read anything at all.when i put a disc in it it turns a few seconds and then stops. please can someone help me

Did it ever work? Insert a BOOTABLE disc in the drive and reboot - does the system see the disc at boot?
