Two hard drives,,,

Hello, I have a older PC with XP home installed on a 20 gig hard drive. I have a second 20 gig hard drive installed and formated.   

 Do I have to do anything special to make it work with two hard drives?  Will it work like a single 40 gig hard drive?

Not exactly.
Do you have a lot of Photos?
Lots of Music?
Lots of Videos?

You  cam move the entire My Documents folder into a folder on the new drive.

So far I don't have to much on the master drive, I just got this PC going a few days ago.

I have a 80 conductor cable and the drives set as master and slave, both on the primary IDE, would it make any difference if I set the drives to cable select? I mean would the PC run any better on cable select?

I have never seen any difference.
But the 80 wire cable is recommended.
I use it, but I do not use the cable select option.
