    Motherboard
    « on: December 11, 2009, 07:32:02 PM »
Having trouble looking for a motherboard. I own a dell gx260 right now and have invested in a DVD burner and a new Video capture card. I would like to upgrade my computer to windows 7 I'm currently running windows xp. I realize that with my current motherboard it is impossible to upgrade. I'm looking for a motherboard thats not only windows compatible ,but one that might be able to use my burner and video card. I need some PATA connections and at least one PCI card. Most motherboards today are SATA so I'm having some trouble. I went on Microsoft site and am current running though a list of boards that are compatible with windows 7.l If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it.

The new version of the GX280 motherboard might work for you.
And is cheap without the CPU.
It has one SATA and one PATA drive connectors.
It has 6 USB. So you could use and external burner.

It has a775 socket. But you can not go more that 2 GB

Some versions have PCIe and a PCI slot.
