VDS Basic Provider Error

 For the past few days I have been getting several events in my event log saying that "VDS Basic Provider has failed." The details in event log are:

Unexpected failure. Error code: 490@01010004. Sometimes, this crashes windows explorer, but other times it just shows up in the event log. It happens randomly when viewing folders and file properties.
 Anyone have any ideas?
