Thanks so much for all the ideas.I wonder which one is the most resource hogger?
I'm pretty much gona stay w/ anything linked to Google...since I seen this hour long show about Google on something like MSNBC News or something to that effect,I was shocked at how their MAIN office is run and how Google is doing soooo many smart things...

If you ever watch a show that says absolutely nothing bad about a company then their view is biased. All companies make mistakes, it's how they deal with the repercussions from those mistakes that make or break them as a company.

Has it occured to anybody that perhaps Google struck a deal with NBC? "we'll rank results pointing to you page higher, just do a shameless plug of us".

It's basically Google Chrome, except it doesn't have spyware.

Google removed that "we will monitor your activities for whatever reasons we desire, anything you post using Chrome becomes the property of Google, including forum posts, blog entries, etc " clause from the EULA quite some time ago.... I think they did, anyway. I'm not about to install Chrome to find out.

Maybe give ChromePlus browser a test? It's based on Chromium (the open source version of Chrome) but it has additional features, which seem good like adblocking, IE tab (so you can really throw away IE8) for say.

Asking what Browser is the best is always going to get alot of people saying that this
is the best and that is the best. All I can suggest is that it's like going to buy a car
YOU choose one that best suits Your needs and not what the salesman is trying to sell
    you.
Good luck with your choice tho

There is no best. Whatever you like is best. Install a few and make your own decision. The most popular are IE8, Firefox, Opera and Safari. I have all 4 installed on most systems but IE8 is my personal choice.

O Really!...What's so special about IE8 that makes it your's favorite?

I've been using Firefox as my default browser.

Over these years, FF has literally turned in to a 'Bloated' browser taking a significant amount of time to load during its 'Cold Boot'!!!

Moreover, these Guys have not yet come up with 'Quick Loader/accelerator' kind of thing that can make it load fast right on the very first instance!

I LOVE chrome! It fast, light, and very streamlined. There are no stupid toolbars to slow you down, everything you need is right there and all the fancy extras are hidden in drop down menus and buttons. It is very bare basic but its fast and very clean. Firefox is great too but it takes forever to open and it just feels bulky and slows down the computer. I like things very clean and small and not many gagets on it so chrome suits me. Firefox is great for the extra addons and cool stuff you can do with it, but if you just want to surf the internet with no problems, Chrome is the way to go.

Have you seen the 'New Avatar' of Chrome? Its Comodo's Dragon Browser, touted as the first ever 'Security Browser"!!

Speed of Browsing is really very cool with a nice interface, have got two updates as well since its release sate!

So I'm thinking maybe I'll try Google Chrome or....?
But after watching that show about Google,I was amazed! Can't explain it...you'd have to just see it to see what I mean
                 Thanks for all the help!! ;-}

Do you know that what's the NEXT innovation Google Guys going to integrate into their Browser?

It'll surely be 'Web acceleration' by the means of using 'Compression Technology'.....Remember 'Google Web accelerator'????...That'll be the way forward to step ahead of all future Browser innovations, specially when Google have come with Public DNS>>8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 & have also quoted interest to invest in Multi-million dollars Optic Fiber N/W capable of delivering Internet speeds in the range of Gbps!!

              Ohhh duhhhhh...(sorry)
After re-reading what I last said....it sounds like I missed reading the responses. But I did take all of the advice into consideration,so I first downloaded Firefox(cool browser)...now I'm gona try Google Chrome...and just sorta see which one fits my taste.Looks like both IE AND Firefox have unique things I really like.I just didn't know if I could actually download all these browsers without slowing down my computer alot.
Being that its a new computer,I doubt a whole lot could slow it down(besides worms,trojans,viruses,adaware,et....)
Thanks to all....if anybody still has opinions I'm still checking.I like those chartts and what people are actually useing the most(and why)
                 Thanks so much to evreyone.

I have FF and Chrome, in addtion to IE, on my laptop running Vista. Merely having them installed is not going to slow down your system.  Of course, if you run multiple browsers at the same time, and let's say you have a lot of sites/tabs open in each browser, you may notice some slowing of your system.

I totally agree with Soybean, having a number of browsers installed on your hard drive will not slow down your system at all.  I've been amazed at a few of the posts that recommend deleting unused programs off the hard drive to speed up the machine.  Except in some rare extreme cases it doesn't make a difference.

You can have all kinds of unnecessary junk on your hard drive, and as long as it's not running, it won't slow down your system.  Although, if it's junk it's best to get rid of it anyway.

Considering a good percentage of programs like to install startups to make their program faster or update them as a service it's not completely inaccurate. You can always disable the startups instead, of course.

I was very impressed with FireFox.  The speed is great and it has many good Ad-ons.
I have always used IE, but I may switch to FireFox.   8)

Well the great news is now.. after the EU butted in. Microsoft now have to advertise these browsers IE, Opera, Firefox, Chrome and Safari as standard in Europe. If you have not already seen it on your browser your probably using one of the others (not IE). This is an attempt to stop Microsoft monopolising the market. I have no links as this is from my memory.. but feel free to look it up.
