Hard drive not setup properly in CMOS
Verify the drive is setup as Auto or correctly manually configured in CMOS.

Hard drive not connected
Caution: When working inside your computer, take precautions to prevent ESD.
Power down and unplug your computer. Open the case. Verify that the cables are properly and securely connected to the hard drive. Perform the same check at the location where the hard drive cables connect to the motherboard.
Bad hard drive
If the hard drive is setup as auto or is correctly manually configured and the cables appear to be connected properly it is likely that the hard drive is bad. It is recommended a new hard drive be purchased or that the computer be serviced.
