How to install or uninstall Microsoft Paint

Updated: 05/21/2018 by Computer Hope

Below are steps on how you can install or uninstall Microsoft Paint (MSPaint).

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add Remove Programs.
  3. Click the Windows Setup Tab
  4. Double-click the Accessories icon and check or uncheck paint depending on if you want to install or uninstall it.

When prompted for a diskette, insert your Windows CD or try pointing to "C:\windows\options\cabs" (depending on how Windows was installed on your computer this directory may not exist). If this directory does not exist on your hard drive, you need your CD.
