How to remove recommended videos and channels from YouTube

YouTube generates video and channel recommendations, usually based on your searches and viewing habits. Consequently, if you consume irregular content, you might see suggestions for subjects you're not normally interested in viewing. This page shows you how to remove videos and channels recommended by YouTube so they don't appear in your feed again. To learn how to do so, choose a category from the list below and follow the instructions.

Note

No matter how many channels or videos you remove, there is no way to stop YouTube from suggesting content to you on the home screen. If this option is ever added, we'll update our page.

Remove a single video from your recommendations

  1. Go to the YouTube website and click YouTube sign in button in the upper-right corner (if you're not already signed in to your YouTube account).
  2. Find the video you want to remove.
  3. At the bottom-right of the thumbnail for the video, click the kebab menu.

  1. In the pop-up menu, select Not interested to remove the video from your recommendations.

Remove an entire channel from your recommendations

  1. Go to the YouTube website and click YouTube sign in button in the upper-right corner (if you're not already signed in to your YouTube account).
  2. In the recommended videos displayed on the home screen, find a video from the user or channel you want to remove.
  3. At the bottom-right of the thumbnail for the video, click the kebab menu.

  1. In the pop-up menu, select Don't recommend channel to remove all videos for that user or channel from your recommendations.
