How to comment on a YouTube video

Commenting on a YouTube video helps the creator know if the content is appealing to their users. For example, a positive comment, like "I really like this video," lets the creator know to keep doing this content. Where a negative comment, like "This video doesn't explain the subject very well," lets the creator know to add more information or possibly create different material altogether. How to comment on a YouTube video on a computer

  1. Go to the YouTube website and click YouTube sign in button in the upper-right corner (if you're not already signed in to your YouTube account).
  2. Click the video you want to leave a comment on.
  3. Under the video, there is a section for Comments. The first line should be a space that says Add a public comment with your channel logo next to it, as shown below. You might need to scroll down slightly to get to this area.
  4. Click where it says Add a public comment type any comments you like. Remember to keep the commentary constructive, even when providing negative feedback. For example, "This sucks," isn't helpful. "This video cuts out at the end" is a more helpful comment, as it lets the creator know what they need to fix.

How to comment on a YouTube video on a smartphone or tablet

  1. Go to the YouTube website and click YouTube sign in button in the upper-right corner (if you're not already signed in to your YouTube account). If you downloaded it, you can also sign in to the YouTube app.
  2. Tap the video you want to leave a comment on.
  3. Under the video, there is a section for Comments. To the right, tap the logo appearing as two arrows pointing up and down, as shown below.
