OSD may refer to any of the following:

Monitor OSD

1. Short for on-screen display, OSD is a menu on various devices that provides options used to adjust the display or other options available to that device. The picture shows an OSD displayed in the bottom-right corner of a computer monitor.

What is an OSD Lockout?

An OSD Lockout, OSD Lock-out, or OSD Lock message is displayed when an LCD (liquid-crystal display) or LED (light-emitting diode) monitor menu button is pressed for an extended period. This feature helps prevent accidental changes or unwanted adjustments to your monitor settings. Pressing the menu button for more than 10 seconds on some monitors enables this feature.

To disable the OSD lockout, press and hold the monitor menu button for 10-15 seconds. If pressing and holding the button doesn't make this message disappear, ensure the button is clean and doesn't appear defective. If nothing appears wrong with the button and holding the button down doesn't change the message, the monitor is defective and should be repaired or replaced.

2. Short for open source definition, OSD is an agreement for distributing, using, and modifying open source code.

3. Abbreviation for object-based storage device, an OSD is any device that utilizes the standard of storing data sets as objects. The SCSI (small computer system interface) command set for OSDs was created by the Storage Industry Networking Association.
