Sometimes abbreviated as AA, Android Auto was released on March 19, 2015, and is a version of the Android operating system designed for use in vehicle infotainment systems. It features simplified versions of popular mobile applications, including Spotify, Audible, Google Maps, and Waze. These applications can perform quick actions, like changing songs, making phone calls, or giving directions. All of Android Auto's features can be controlled with hands-free voice commands using the Google Assistant.

Android Auto is included in many modern cars with touch screen media systems. It is also available for third-party stereo systems. A mobile application, which can be used by passengers to control media, is available on the Google Play Store.
