Created in 2019 and later purchased by Nord Security, Atlas VPN is a VPN (Virtual Private Network) service that positions itself as an accessible freemium alternative to larger VPN providers.


Atlas VPN announced in March 2024, that it was shutting down on April 24, 2024, existing customers would be moved to NordVPN.

What features did Atlas VPN include?

  • Split tunneling - Allows you to connect to a foreign VPN server while also using local services.
  • Network kill switch - Keeps your data from leaking during a connection error to the VPN service.
  • WireGuard Protocol - Uses services from WireGuard to improve performance while streaming content.
  • Ad and tracker blockers - Prevents targeted or malicious ads from appearing while you browse the Internet.
  • No-logs policy - Atlas VPN does not collect your IP address or browsing data.
