Bias

Updated: 10/02/2017 by Computer Hope

Bias is an inclination to hold on to a partial perspective or outlook, accompanied by an unwillingness to consider other ideas or perspectives. Like prejudice in that it is usually directed at another person, race, religion or social class, bias may also be presented against an idea. An example of bias is when a person believes that all Apple products are superior to Windows based products and vice versa.

Note

The word "bias" should not be confused with the computer BIOS (basic input/output system).
