Bitmoji

Released in 2014 by Bitstrips, Bitmoji is a smartphone app for creating cartoon avatar characters. The app features a character customizer with a library of hairstyles, facial features, clothing, and accessories that can be changed at any time. Once created, your Bitmoji character can be used across other apps and services. A series of sharable stickers are generated, featuring your avatar in an extensive library of templates performing different actions and showcasing emotions.

Bitmoji stickers can be copied and pasted from the Bitmoji app into any chat app that supports images. They can also be added directly to your phone's default or third-party keyboard. When you edit your Bitmoji or change its outfit, all stickers are updated with the new look.

Bitmoji and Snapchat

Since Bitmoji was acquired by Snap in 2016, it is heavily integrated into Snapchat. Snapchat users are automatically prompted to create a Bitmoji when they sign in to a new account on the app. Bitmoji characters serve as avatars for every user on the app, and the stickers can be inserted into any snap or chat sent through the app.
