Color profile

A color profile is a file that contains information about a device's ability to capture or reproduce color. Common devices utilizing a color profile include printers, digital cameras, monitors, and scanners.

Microsoft Windows users can customize or create their own color profiles for their monitor or supported device by following the steps below.

Windows 8 and 10

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Click the Color Management option.
  3. If shown, check the box for the Use my settings for this device. option
  4. Click the Add button and add your desired color profile.

Windows 7 and earlier

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Display or Personalization option.
  3. Go to Settings and click the Advanced button.
  4. Click the Color Management tab.
  5. If shown, check the box for the Use my settings for this device. option
  6. Click the Add button and add your desired color profile.
