Conglomerate

Alternatively referred to as a multi-industry company, a conglomerate is several companies in different industries that are operating all under one corporate group. Each conglomerate's subsidiary is run independently but report to the parent company. By operating in different industries, a conglomerate reduces its risk from being in a single market.

A good example of a computer-related conglomerate is Alphabet, which is a parent company of Google. With the Alphabet conglomerate, it has the following subsidiaries.
