Contextual advertising

Updated: 04/26/2017 by Computer Hope

Advertising on the Internet that is determined by the content on the current web page or search history is referred to as contextual advertising. The advertising company achieves this by using a spider or another script to scan the web page for keywords and display ads relating to those keywords. Contextual advertising is more effective than generic advertising because it attempts to cater to the visitor's interests, as opposed to displaying random content.
