Date and Time

Date and Time is a Windows setting area that lets users view and adjust their date and time settings. Below is an example of how the Date and Time window appears in Windows 11.

How to open Date and Time

The Date and Time window can be opened through the following methods.

  1. Click Start.
  2. Type date, and if Date & Time settings is highlighted, press Enter.
  3. In the Date & time window, you'll be able to access most date and time settings. To access the Date and Time window mentioned on this page, click the Additional clocks or Add clocks for different time zones option.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click Time & Language.
  3. To access the Date and Time window mentioned on this page, click the Additional clocks or Add clocks for different time zones option.

The Bluetooth & devices window can also be opened by running the associated .cpl file. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Click Start.
  2. Type timedate.cpl and press Enter.

Date and Time tabs

Below are the tabs in the Date and Time window and a list of available options.

Date and Time

In the Date and Time tab, the date, time, time zone, and daylight saving time information is shown. Additionally, click the Change date and time button to change the date and time or click Change time zone to change the time zone.

Additional Clocks

In the Additional Clocks tab, you can add up to two additional clocks to show when you click the time in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Internet Time

In the Internet Time tab, you can see when the computer synchronizes with a time server to get a more accurate time.
