Dirty ROM

A dirty ROM is a ROM used with earlier editions of the Apple Macintosh computer and refers to the portion of ROM (read-only memory) used by the programmers and engineers.

Macs always had a 32-bit access; however, was not capable of accessing 24-bits to allow programmers and engineers to use the last 8-bits for their needs.
