Coax cable

Invented by Eric E. Winston in the early 1950s, the F connector is an inexpensive, screw-on, round cable connector. It's used with cords for cable modems, and with satellite and cable television. While nearly all F connectors are male, female connectors are also used as couplers or on bulkheads. The picture shows an example of a coaxial cable with an F-type connector on the end of it.
