Google Meet

Released in 2017, Google Meet is a platform for video meetings. Users can create or schedule meetings and invite members from business or school organizations, or other Gmail contacts. It is accessible from the mobile app on Android and iOS devices, or online through a web browser. Google Meet allows users to share your screen, mute or pin specific members, and record meetings for future reference.

Google Meet is replacing the video calling functionality of Google Hangouts, which is discontinuing its services as of 2021. The chat functionality of Google Hangouts is being replaced by Google Chat, which integrates with Google Meet to allow Google Chat groups to create video meetings together.

The Google Meet service is free for personal use, but offers premium features like longer meetings, and a higher capacity for additional members to those who pay for Google Workspace.
