Hardware key

An authentication device, hardware key, or physical security key is a key to lock and unlock a computer or computer device. These keys can prevent a computer from being turned on or off, software from running, or prevent a device from being removed from a computer. The picture shows a USB (Universal Serial Bus) security token with a randomly generated number to help authenticate a user.
