Housing

Housing describes any material or casing that helps protect or connect components. For example, your computer chassis helps protect all the major parts of your computer while keeping them all in a centralized location.
Note
With a CPU (central processing unit), it is more appropriate to refer to the housing of a CPU as the processor package.
