The reason the word "independent" is in the title is because these companies are not owned by larger entities. They operate separately, creating software solutions that range from applications and utilities to entire platforms. ISVs are essential because they bring innovation, diversity, and specialized expertise to the market. Their competition can also help lower prices for customers.
