Link farming

Link farming may refer to any of the following:

1. Alternatively referred to as link spamming, link bombing, and Google bomb, link farming is script generated page containing links to similar sites to improve their rank with Google. A part of how Google PageRank works is how many pages link to a site. If hundreds of different pages link to your page, Google may move your site higher in its search results.

Warn: Although this tactic may increase your ranking, it is against all search engines' policies and can cause your site or domain to be removed completely from the search engine's index.

2. In Unix systems, the directory tree containing files with links to the master directory, is also called a link farm.
