Locked file

Locked file may refer to any of the following:

1. A locked file is a computer file that cannot be altered. Normal users of such files cannot alter the information they contain, change their location, or alter their names. For example, a program that is logging information to a file may lock it while changes are being written, to ensure data integrity.

2. A locked file or locked data describes data locked because of ransomware.
