Maya

Released by Alias Systems in 1998 and later purchased by Autodesk, Maya is professional 3-D modeling and animation software. Its features are similar to another Autodesk product, 3ds Max, but with a strong focus on animation and character rigging.
Although Maya requires a monthly subscription for professional use, students can get a free version of the software for three years. A 30-day free trial is also available.
