NEdit, also known as the Nirvana editor, is a graphical text editor for the X Window System. It is primarily used for editing source code.
NEdit has an interface similar to many Windows text editors. It can be extended using a macro language, which allows users to perform complicated, repetitive commands quickly. It can also make programming easier by processing tag files generated by the ctags command.
The last official release of NEdit was in 2004, but development by the community has continued as recently as a few years ago, with updates available on SourceForge and GitHub.
