Screen resolution comparison

Often shortened to 4K, the term 4K resolution refers to any display with about 4,000 horizontal pixels. More specifically, dimensions of either 3840 x 2160 (consumer electronics) or 4096 x 2160 (cinematic 4K) pixels. 4K displays have four times as many pixels as those that are FHD (Full High Definition) or 1920 x 1080 at around eight million versus two million.

While 4K resolution used to be found only on large TVs, for instance, UHD (ultra high definition) televisions, it has made its way onto many smaller devices such as computer monitors, smartphones, and tablets.
