Phases

Phases may refer to any of the following:

1. In general, a phase is a part of a process. For example, a sort/merge program has a sort phase and a merge phase.

2. Phases is the name of the data transferred between the SCSI (small computer system interface) initiator and the target.

3. With the IBM VSE (Virtual Storage Extended) operating system, a phase was the smallest complete unit of executable that could be loaded into virtual storage.
