Ping and pong

Ping and pong may refer to any of the following:

1. Communication between network devices allowing each computer to know if the opposite end is still present and available. In a ping pong communication, the ping a transmitted packet to a destination computer, and the pong is the response. When connected through an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) client, such as mIRC, you can see this action taking place while connected.

2. Alternatively known as table tennis, Pong is the first game developed Al Alcorn while at Atari and was released on November 29, 1972. The picture shows how Pong simulates the traditional real-life table tennis game where the player must hit and return a ball back to the other player. If a player misses the ball, the opposing player scores a point.
